The microscope itself is in like-new condition; the case shows signs of normally expected wear. This is the type of microscope that was used in field operations during Viet Nam war. All the lenses on this microscope, including condenser lenses, are in pristine shape, showing almost no signs of prior use. No other accessories are included with the microscope.

The serial number of the microscope, as evidenced by original tag on arm is 3050-538. The microscope folds into a compact size for inclusion in the case and to make carrying field of operations quite easy convenient. The case includes cover slips. Not many of these microscopes were made, and even fewer are known to be in existence today.

The eyepiece, AO Catalog Number 176, is of a special type with locking setscrew to prevent its being dislodged during transport. The microscope comes with its original, drab olive green military case. The condenser includes a smoothly operational iris diaphragm. 1076, 10X, N.A.

The lenses are as follows: AO Cat. Ready for work or proud display in your cabinet. In dark field use, the iris diaphragm is closed down to optimize view in or dark ground viewing. The microscopes comes with its original olive green drab military case for transportation.

The condenser on this microscope is fixed in place and centered to the Optical path. This is a very nice example of the now quite rare American Optical Folding Military Microscope, AO Catalog Number 3050. Also included is the original mirror. Mare written by myself and based upon my research, knowledge of, and/or experience with, the item I am offering for sale.

The beautiful objective lenses on this microscope are all infinity corrected, as required by the unique design of. In addition, the condenser mechanism includes a sliding in-out slide which has either diffusing lens or dark field stop, according to needs of microscopes.
