Early 1960s PLUS SM-M from about 1959. The Ortholux includes a new, modern LED for very white light, long lifetime and constant color temperature. Leitz has been making microscopes since the 1860s and they invented 35mm format camera. No exports, no tariffs, duties and inflated prices.

APS-C at best. Quadruple nose piece with really nice glass. Just screw on your make/ model T-mount adapter about $15.00 and then bayonet camera body. Real glass and metal.

Easy to use a cell phone camera. Canon cameras with Live View is a great feature. Reference only. No surprises except when looking through these oculars for the first time.

View the microscope image directly on your computer displayed. Lots of accessories can be added in the future as your interest microscopy expands. Regular on/off lamp for the student model SM-M. I will include simple polarized light accessories for the Ortholux.they can also be used on SM.

This pair of fine German-made instruments would be perfect for a home lab with student who may want to share the knowledge more advanced citizen scientist using Ortholux photo microscopy, polarized light, dark field and bright field. FS trinocular tube on the Ortholux with paired Propellant oculars. Most camera adapters for microscopes will not handle full frame format sensors. This Microbes with 10x ocular and 0.32x optic is set up for 35mm film.

Stay away from the junk coming in China. I am including a Leitz Microbes attachment that has been modified for use with up to full frame DSLR and MILC cameras. Ask questions before pulling the trigger. They don't make 'em like this any longer.
